Disney Policy Update

2019 Disney World Policy Changes

Disney announced starting May 1, smoking, and certain large strollers will no longer be allowed inside Walt Disney World, water parks, ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, and Disney Springs. Here are a few new policies for 2019, along with the stroller size regulations.

2019 Disney Smoking Policy:

Guests who smoke will still be able to light up in designated areas outside park entry points and in smoking areas at Disney Resort hotels and Disney Springs.

Ice and Dry Ice:

Beginning March 28, 2019, loose or dry ice is no longer permitted in the Walt Disney World theme parks. As an alternative, Disney suggests using re-usable ice packs. Complimentary cups of ice are also available at Food & Beverage locations inside the parks if needed.

Stroller Policy:

Beginning May 1, 2019, Walt Disney World will start enforcing stroller size restrictions to keep them within a reasonable size for navigating through the parks.

New regulations will require them to be no larger than 31" (79cm) wide and 52" (132cm) long.

Popular strollers, such as the Bob Revolution (including the Duallie double-wide version), fit within these size guidelines.

Wagons are already banned, but beginning May 1, stroller wagons (such as the Keenz) will also no longer be permitted.

ABC Commissary to begin accepting reservations for dinner:

Starting this summer, the ABC Commissary at Disney's Hollywood Studios will be changing its Fast Casual dinner experience to accept reservations. Each night beginning at 4 pm, guests with reservations will be able to place an order, take a pager and find a seat. Then, when the order is ready, the food will be brought to your table as before. Walk-ups will still be available, although wait times may be longer. Mobile Order will no longer be available for dinner, for guests with or without reservations. Lunch service is unaffected and remains walk-up only as a counter-service offering.

Reservations are available now for dinner beginning Sunday, June 2, 2019.

The quick-service restaurant moved to the fast-casual model with food delivery to the table back in November 2016 but was available as a walk-up option only.
