COVID Mitigation Efforts
Shades of Green Cares is our enhanced health and safety plan, developed in response to the current COVID-19 pandemic as part of our ongoing commitment to ensuring the health and well-being of all our guests, employees and the communities we work and live in. Listed below are our plans, procedures and protocols that outline how we intend to keep our employees, guests and communities safe. Orange County mandate states all guests and staff must wear masks.
As always, we take great care in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout our hotels, restaurants and spas. We have supplemented these normal procedures with additional COVID-19 cleanliness-specific guidance, training and information to make our cleaning and hygiene protocols even more rigorous:
Our hotel teams are receiving ongoing briefings and enhanced cleaning protocols.
Masks are mandatory in all areas of the resort except inside the pool areas and in your private guest room.
We have increased the frequency of cleaning our public areas including lobbies, elevators, door handles, public bathrooms, spas and even room keys.
Additions to our normal high standard, cleaning and disinfecting protocols to clean rooms after guests depart and before the next guest arrives have been increased, with particular attention paid to high-touch items. Room cleaning during stay is limited to light service on request.(trash and towel exchange only)
In the spaces where team members work behind the scenes, we have increased the frequency of cleaning and focusing on high-touch areas like team entrances, locker rooms, laundry rooms and staff offices.
We will continue to adjust food and beverage service in accordance with current food safety recommendations.
We have increased the deployment of antibacterial hand sanitizers throughout our properties.
All guests will be asked and staff will constantly wash their hands, wear their masks and watch their distance.
In addition, our housekeeping team have created a rigorous cleaning protocol that addresses new normal and provide consumers the confidence that ensures the cleanliness of all guest rooms and high touch areas. We will be using portable high efficiency hospital grade disinfecting misters and UV light germ eliminating technology.
Limited Room Amenities
We are obligated to ensure the safety and well-being of our guests, therefore, amenities such as paper, pens, irons, ironing board have been removed from the rooms. Housekeeping services will be limited to check out only or light touch upon request.
Mail, packages and grocery deliveries will not be available for receiving or outgoing by the resort staff.
Updated Bell Services and Bag Policies
The bell services policies and procedures have been modified to support the health and safety of our guests and team members. When necessary, we will make all possible accommodations for guests with special needs and situations. Car Valet and Airport BAGS services will not be available, however, bell services will be available with modification to assist you with your luggage to and from your guest room. Scooter and Stroller rentals will not be available through the bell services.
Bus Transportation System
An inherent risk for exposure to Covid-19 exists in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), senior citizens and guests with underlying medical conditions are especially vulnerable.
Shades of Green (SOG) has taken enhanced health and safety measures – for you, our other guests, and employees. You must follow all posted instructions while visiting SOG and the Walt Disney World (WDW) Resort. However, by visiting SOG and WDW Resort you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19.
Use of Masks / Physical Distancing on SOG Buses
Orange County, WDW, and SOG all mandate the use of masks/face coverings in public areas.
Wear a mask/face covering while onboard the buses and while at the resort.
Use extra space to create physical distance from one another while on the buses.
Follow social distancing markers in the bus pickup area and around the resort.
SOG has reduced the number of passengers permitted on the buses. Wait times may be impacted.
Cleanliness and Sanitation
SOG has increased the frequency of wipe-down cleaning of high-touch areas on the buses using a CDC-recommended disinfectant.
Buses now undergo regular ozonation, which is an advanced sanitation process that has been proven to kill viruses, including COVID-19.
Hand sanitizer is available on all buses, as well as throughout the resort.
SOG Bus Protocol
A resort ID and photo ID are required for each guest room group boarding the buses.
A photo ID is required for each adult (18 years and older).
Eating and drinking on the buses is prohibited.
Due to the limited number of passengers allowed per bus, guests with electrical conveyance or wheelchairs are required to wait in line with their party. The drivers will load the bus accordingly.
Pool / Fitness Area
All pool furniture will be deep cleaned and continually sanitized.
The pool will have limited capacity based on CDC guidelines.
Face Coverings are required at the pool, except for the following:
• Children 2 and under while swimming
• While sitting on pool furniture
In the Fitness Center, there will be frequent use of our hospital-grade disinfecting misters. We also have available disinfectant wipes and ask that when you have finished using a machine, please wipe down the machine.
Face Coverings are required in the Fitness Center.
Enhanced Check-in and Check-out Process
