COVID Mitigation Efforts

Shades of Green Cares is our enhanced health and safety plan, developed in response to the current COVID-19 pandemic as part of our ongoing commitment to ensuring the health and well-being of all our guests, employees and the communities we work and live in.  Listed below are our plans, procedures and protocols that outline how we intend to keep our employees, guests, and communities safe.

As always, we take great care in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout our hotels, restaurants and spas. We have supplemented these normal procedures with additional COVID-19 cleanliness-specific guidance, training and information to make our cleaning and hygiene protocols even more rigorous:

  • Our hotel teams are receiving ongoing briefings and enhanced cleaning protocols.

  • Shades of Green has been intentional and gradual in our approach to our COVID-19 health and safety protocols. Based on recent trends and regulatory guidance, SOG no longer requires masks to be worn on SOG transportation.

Here forward, face coverings are optional for guests in both outdoor and indoor locations and SOG transportation

  • We have increased the frequency of cleaning our public areas including lobbies, elevators, door handles, public bathrooms, spas, and even room keys.

  • Additions to our normal high standard, cleaning and disinfecting protocols to clean rooms after guests depart and before the next guest arrives have been increased, with particular attention paid to high-touch items. We offer full service housekeeping daily between 8am and 4pm.

  • In the spaces where team members work behind the scenes, we have increased the frequency of cleaning and focusing on high-touch areas like team entrances, locker rooms, laundry rooms and staff offices.

  • We will continue to adjust food and beverage service in accordance with current food safety recommendations.

  • We have increased the deployment of antibacterial hand sanitizers throughout our properties.

  • All guests and staff are asked to continue to wash their hands, use hand sanitizer provided, and be mindful of their distance between themselves and others.

In addition, our housekeeping team have created a rigorous cleaning protocol that addresses new normal and provide consumers the confidence that ensures the cleanliness of all guest rooms and high touch areas.  We will be using portable high efficiency hospital-grade disinfecting misters and UV light germ eliminating technology.

Bus Transportation System

An inherent risk for exposure to Covid-19 exists in any public place where people are present.  COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death.  According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), senior citizens and guests with underlying medical conditions are especially vulnerable.

Shades of Green (SOG) has taken enhanced health and safety measures – for you, our other guests, and employees.  You must follow all posted instructions while visiting SOG and the Walt Disney World (WDW) Resort.  However, by visiting SOG and WDW Resort you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19.

Use of Masks / Physical Distancing on SOG Buses

  • Wear a mask/face covering while onboard the buses.

  • Use extra space to create physical distance from one another while on the buses.

Cleanliness and Sanitation

  • SOG has increased the frequency of wipe-down cleaning of high-touch areas on the buses using a CDC-recommended disinfectant.

  • Buses now undergo regular ozonation, which is an advanced sanitation process that has been proven to kill viruses, including COVID-19.

  •  Hand sanitizer is available on all buses, as well as throughout the resort.

SOG Bus Protocol

  • A resort ID and photo ID are required for each guest room group boarding the buses.

  • A photo ID is required for each adult (18 years and older).

  • Eating and drinking on the buses is prohibited.
